An Award!!
The Best Blog Award does come with some responsiblities: Post the award on your blog along with the name of the person who passed it on to you and link to their blog. Choose 15 blogs which you have recently discovered and you think are great and pass it on to them. Don’t forget to leave a comment on their blog to let them know they have been chosen for this award. I have chosen to pick a few blogs for various reasons, as listed below. Flower Hill Farm. This truly is a magical place. Carol gardens in Massachusetts, and her gardens and photography are obviously a labor of love. Her images and thoughtful posts are inspiring to me, and I find myself eager for return visits. Carol has been blogging since 2007, and joined Blotanical in May of 2009, but I just recently discovered her blog. If you have not yet visited, I would encourage you to do so. A Way To Garden. Margaret worked as a garden editor and editorial director for Martha Stewart Living. She has been blogging since March of 2008. Margaret gardens in Hudson Valley, New York. Her gardens are absolutely amazing. I have chosen her blog because every single time I visit I learn something new. And, I have spent a considerable amount of time absorbing information here. ;) Voice in the Garden. Di gardens in the Pacific Northwest, a place I’m proud to call home. Di’s images of the majestic Oregon coastline, spectacular mountain views, and colorful skies make visiting her blog a visual treat. Her gardens are equally beautiful, filled with colorful trees and ornamental grasses. If you haven’t already done so, I hope you will pay a visit to the blogs of these talented gardeners. 18 comments to An Award!! |

Congratulations Liisa on your well deserved award! Happy gardening and blogging!
Liisa your blog certainly deserves accolades for its thoughtful post, links and beautiful photos. I am so touched that you would consider me worthy of an award. Even though I am not sure how I feel about said awards. I want to thank you so much. Now I have received this award already and truly have been trying to figure out what to do. I was on blotanical for a good while this morning trying to find new blogs that I would like to feature and I only recently found you … so you were on my list. I get to talk about you now anyway. Thanks for thinking of me and for inspiring me with a good way to regard this honor… by honoring other blogs in a special post about awards and blogging. BTW my son did set me up with a blog page in 2007 but I did not get started with my actual blog until last February 6th … almost a year now! In a similar way I joined Blotanical this May but did not really get active until September … I think. I tend to move into these things rather slowly. I am so thankful for finding you! P.S. It is great you have a link to North Hill … amazing amazing gardens! World class gardeners … Joe and Wayne … great writers too. We are lucky being so close to them … I first visited there well over a decade ago but forget to go some years.
Wow! Liisa, you are so kind to think of me in this light… I am humbled and especially after having spent some time here perusing and enjoy your wonderful site! Congratulations to you lady on the “Best Blog Award”.
This weeks I am inundated, but will spend more time focusing on this project you have given me. Time must be allotted to Blotanical to read and research blogs of interest… for it seems that most of the people who immediately come to mind, those exceptional blogs I follow, have already received these awards; therefore, I’ll need to do some digging.
Thank you so much!
HI Liisa: Welcome to the Best Blog Award Group. Liza and John’s Garden is a newbie also. Also new to visiting your blog, you have a great blog.
Have a great evening,
John
Hi Liisa~~ You’re from the Pacific Northwest? I notice you’ve got Joy Creek, Forest Farm and Territorial included in your links. I want to thank you for having my blog included too. It’s an honor. Isn’t this whole blogging thing a kick? And thanks to you I have a few new blogs to check out. Congrats on the award. It’s well deserved.
Congratulations on a well deserved award. I love A Way To Garden, Margaret is so knowledgeable, and had the most amazing photographs. But your other two choices, I have not had the priviledge of reading, looking forward to visiting them as well.
Thank you so much Tatyana, the award was certainly a pleasant surprise!
Thank you, Carol. I didn’t want you to feel obligated to accept the award, but I thought this was a great way to call attention to your blog, and share it with others. I am thankful for finding you, as well!! North Hill is totally amazing. While we were touring, I was teasing my fiance saying I was going to leave him and live like a troll under their bridge so that they can teach me everything they know. Have you ever attended their annual symposium? I had signed up to attend last year, but then couldn’t attend due to other obligations, so I am determined to go this year!!
Diana,
It was my pleasure to call attention to your blog. You have some amazing photographs! I will be looking forward to future visits.
Hello John, and welcome! I am happy to meet another New England gardener, and look forward to visiting your blog.
Grace,
I spent about 23 years in Spokane, WA and a couple more years in Coeur d’ Alene, ID. Funny, though, I didn’t learn about Forest Farm until I moved to Vermont!! They have an amazing collection of plants, and I would love to see it in person. Have you been there? I really enjoy blogging, and I have met some really wonderful people. I’m so glad that I discovered such a wonderful blogging community. Thank you so much!
Thank you, Deborah. Isn’t Margaret amazing?! She is so talented, and her gardens are absolutely beautiful. Hope you have fun checking out the other two blogs!!
Thanks for the tips on new garden blogs to enjoy! It’s so addictive, and I keep adding more to my favorites.
Robin,
It is rather addictive! My Blog List continues to grow as well. There are so many wonderful blogs out there, and I get a kick out of discovering new favorites.
A big congratulations Liisa! Well deserved and I love reading your wonderful stories. The previous post about how you began gardening was delightful. I wish there had been garden blogs when I began gardening so long ago. What a tremendous resource they are, and the bloggers are so supportive and kind. We are all blessed to have each other.
Frances
Liisa, Congratulations on your award…It’s a good feeling when our blogging friends honor us so! They really are the best of folks. Now, if only there were a few less chores and more time to blog; I think I’ll ask Santa for a housecleaning crew! gail ps I loved your description of the peahen who is visiting C&L!
Thank you, Gail. I think that’s a wonderful request from Santa. I would like to clone myself for a couple of weeks. Do you think that he would go for it? I’m thinking, Gail, that you don’t even have to worry about adopting that ‘ol peahen. Because she’s clearly already adopted you!!
Thank you, Frances. Blogs are such an amazing resource. It’s so great to be surrounded by so many talented gardeners. We are truly blessed.
